The Left Brain Right Brain Explanation

Left Brain Right Brain Explanation

The two hemispheres of our brain, simultaneously run two separate races. On completely different race tracks.

Michael Hutchison wrote in The Book of Floating. The categories are often referred to as the Seven Theories of FloatingThe Left Brain Right Brain Explanation is the Third Theory.

The left hemisphere of the brain is all about the detail and the specifics. It processes information is organised and analytical.

The right hemisphere on the other hand, is all about the broader outlook. Putting all the pieces together through pattern recognition and quickly absorbing large scale information.

The left hemisphere is the squeaky wheel. It is dominant and controlling. It goes non stop and can be called noisy. Traits which are more sort out in modern day culture where it is every person for themselves. In contrast the subtle, relaxed and mindful right hemisphere which is usually drowned out.

Floating in a sensory deprivation tank turns off the external stimuli. This  leaves the Left Hemisphere with no fuel. Nothing to analyse, organise or focus on. Often it takes a couple of sessions in a floatation tank to allow the Left Hemisphere to run out of juice. To slow down and to switch off. Floating forces us into both literal and figurative darkness. This allows the Right Hemisphere to come out to play. Funnily after some Right Brain stimulation, the Left Brain operates more efficiently. Everything appears super clear.

Give yourself a deserved hour in peace and quiet. Let your Right Brain out to play. Book Here
